Press release from the Tarrant County Government: October 26, 2021 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEEdrea AuSenior Public Information OfficerTarrant County Public [email protected] Free Pop-up flu vaccine clinic on Wed, Oct. 27 Oct. 26, 2021 - (Tarrant County) – Tarrant County Public Health is now offering free flu shots to the uninsured through partner pharmacies through March 31, 2022. The free flu shots are available at more than 60 participating pharmacy locations. Through the Expanded Access Program, Tarrant County has partnered with Albertsons, Kroger and Tom Thumb to provide flu shots for the uninsured. The Expanded Access Program was created in 2020 to lower the barriers to access the flu vaccine. "Tarrant County has put aside $1 million for this Flu Vaccine Expanded Access Program for the uninsured," says Tarrant County Public Health Director Vinny Taneja. "It is a big investment in expanding preventative services for the uninsured to address health disparities and access to care in Tarrant County." Tom Thumb/Albertsons pharmacy, in partnership with Mercy Clinic Fort Worth, will be holding a free pop-up flu vaccination clinic.
