MARIN COUNTY, CA — More rain and high winds are headed to Marin. The National Weather Service predicts an "atmospheric river" will dump more rain on Marin Monday night and into Tuesday throughout the Bay Area, and the agency has issued a wind advisory for parts of the Bay Area including Marin. Good morning #BayArea & #Central Coast! Rain is on the way this evening and into tonight as a generally weak atmospheric river and associated frontal boundary moves through the region. Expect gusty winds tonight too. Here's a glace and your 5-day weather outlook. #CAwx #BayAreaWX pic.twitter.com/78v0q6ygOV— NWS Bay Area (@NWSBayArea) November 8, 2021 Most of the Bay Area including Marin will be under a wind advisory from 7 p.m. on Monday through 3 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the NWS. Marin is still recovering from a "bomb cyclone" storm late last month that dumped more than 16 inches of rain on Mount Tamalpais and caused widespread flooding and power outages. Hold on to your hats, folks! 🍃🎩 Rain won't be the only concern out of this upcoming cold front. A ⚠️Wind Advisory ⚠️is in effect tomorrow evening and into early Tuesday morning as strong south winds are expected ahead of the upcoming cold front. #CaWx #Wind #BayArea pic.twitter.com/i5mfPgS7Al— NWS Bay Area (@NWSBayArea) November 8, 2021 Marin desperately needs the rain though amid a historic drought, and last month's storm boosted the North Bay county's water supply significantly, officials said. The Marin Municipal Water District, which serves over 190,000 residents, reported that its seven reservoirs in the Mount Tamalpais watershed went from 33.03 percent of capacity to 50.47 percent in a four-day span. Rain arrives to the #BayArea Monday afternoon, becoming heavy at times overnight. Lingering showers will persist through much of Tuesday.
