San Diego County health officials reported 453 new cases of COVID-19 and no additional deaths Sunday.
The updated data increased the county's cases total to 374,851 cases since the pandemic began early in 2020. The death toll held steady at 4,250.
Four new people were hospitalized with COVID-19 locally, but no new patients required intensive care.
Over the last three months, the daily average number of global cases has fallen by 36%, according to a Reuters analysis.
Even though the spread has slowed, the virus is still infecting 50 million people every 90 days due to the highly transmissible Delta variant, the analysis showed. It took nearly a year to record the first 50 million COVID cases worldwide.
The global total is approaching 250 million, with 5 million deaths.
Infections are still rising in 55 out of 240 countries, with Russia, Ukraine and Greece at or near record levels.
The U.S. has recorded almost 46.5 million COVID cases, with 754,395 deaths.
