CONCORD, NH — The U.S. Senate is creating a fellowship program for Gold Star family members. The program will connect those who have lost family members in the line of duty or due to service-connected injuries with U.S. Senate offices for a 12-month fellowship. The program was introduced by U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and will be set up by the sergeant at arms. The legislative branch will pay for the fellowship. "Gold Star family members are intimately aware of the sacrifice that service members make in order to protect our freedoms," she said. "It is important to have their perspectives in the Senate as we work on ways to strengthen support for service members and their families. I'm glad to have helped introduce this bipartisan resolution and I will continue working to help service members and their families."
