Ducks General Manager Placed On Leave During Investigation

ANAHEIM, CA —Executive Vice President/General Manager Bob Murray of the Anaheim Ducks has been placed on administrative leave for what the team is calling an investigation related to his "professional conduct." No details of the probe were released. Murray has been with the team since 2005, and has served as general manager since 2008. He famously took over as interim coach in 2019 after firing then-coach Randy Carlyle. The first game he coached in that experiment was against the Vancouver Canucks, who the Ducks must face Tuesday evening. "We recently became aware of accusations of improper professional conduct against Bob Murray," according to a statement from the team. "After internal review, we enlisted Shephard Mullin to perform an independent investigation. Upon recommendation from their initial findings, we have decided to place Bob on administrative leave pending final results. Jeff Solomon will assume the role as interim General Manager, they said. Solomon is currently Vice President of Hockey Operations and Assistant General Manager. "We will have no further comment until the investigation is complete," they said.
