Duo Partner Needed for the Salty Hair Project

Meets

Clearwater FL

Description

I am looking for a duo partner that may want to ramp up into a trio or band down the road. I've played locally for about 23 odd years or so. I love whole beach music idea and playing music that just makes people want to have a great time. I'm talking about cool tunes that most everyone knows yet are not necessarily "overdone". I love playing the newer country stuff that scream, "I need a beer at the beach now". That said bands like The Cars, The Stray Cats, Hootie & the Blowfish, REM, Barenaked Ladies, Tom Petty and on and on fit the mold. I played in a 50's & 60's band for awhile as well so playing some Chuck Berry or Buddy Holly works to. As long as it is fun and we love playing it, I am all in. I play guitar, bass, and sing. I'd love to ramp up to a band situation but think establishing a backbone out of the gate is important. Ultimately I would love to put together a group of 3 or 4 people that, (a) all sing and sing well, (b) do not want to play every weekend, (c) can put together songs quickly, professionally and without a lot of practices, and (d) want to be the best at what we do while having fun doing it. My opinion is vocals are what make a band. Everyone needs to have a singing role for this to work. I have top notch gear including harmonizers but do not want to rely on them for every song. Not playing every weekend simply means I am not doing this full time is all. Some months 4 or 5 gigs, some months 2, maybe a month of none? I am not looking to be the leader of anything and would request that you would have a list of tunes that you want to play as well. Ideally someone that has the ability to play solo but wants that duo feel would be perfect. So I am looking for an acoustic guitar/bass player that has similar tastes. I am 54 just FYI, I drink beer and am damn good at it. That’s the story. If you live in the Clearwater area and this sounds interesting I look forward to hearing from you.
