Major Change Coming To Gilead Road Wednesday Night

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Those who use exit 23 on Interstate 77 or travel on Gilead Road need to prepare for a major change on Wednesday night. The heavily congested area that allows access onto the Interstate and intersects Gilead Road will have its stop bar moved back ten feet. According to Huntersville officials, they've been working with the Department of Transportation to alleviate some of the challenges in that area including a very tight temporary barrier wall. Work will take place Wednesday night and town officials warn people to pay attention to the change in hopes it will improve safety. Live in Huntersville?
