Tuscaloosa Resident Donates 35 'Carter Kits' To Area Agencies

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Autism Society of Alabama on Monday announced 35 Carter Kits have been given to area first responders from Tuscaloosa resident Sam Dowling. Click here to subscribe to our free Tuscaloosa Daily newsletter and breaking news alerts Dowling has autism spectrum disorder and to celebrate his 30th birthday this past July, he started a fundraiser to get 30 Carter Kits to donate to first responders in his community. The kits were presented Monday to the Tuscaloosa Police Department, Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office and Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue Service. The Autism Society of Alabama says Carter Kits are a part of its safety initiative programming that distributes sensory bags to first responder agencies.
