experimental punks where u at? i'm new to columbus, here for grad school for at least 4 years, eager to play tunes with people again, played in touring bands in Milwaukee and Portland for years. let's do something weird, angular, but psychedelic, and political and not afraid to integrate some pop vibes. i play guitar, bass, and keys and sing, most comfortable on guitar...responses to this ad can include multi instrumentalists, bassists, drummers, reed instrument players, drum machine operators, open minded creative folks in general... for the sake of convenience, i'll use some artists as references for some sonic direction: damo-era can this heat wire neu velvet underground broadcast gang of four early to mid-era liars early era deerhunter stereolab pink floyd mbv dub/reggae (a la scientist, keith hudson, sly & robbie...) house/techno ambient/experimental some more contemporary references: cate le bon, peel dream magazine, beak, moin, women/cindy lee, crack cloud i realize it's kind of an eclectic mix of stuff, but if this combo of things rings a bell for you and you vibe with it, let's link up. let's see if we vibe and try to make some cool tunes, play live, record, etc. i'm pretty busy as a phd student, but looking forward to commit to the right thing. if you respond, let me know which parts of this you're stoked on.
