Things you need to know before getting a chinchilla: You must have A/C your house temperature should never go over 68 degrees; Chinchillas don’t have the ability to sweat and will die in temps over that. Plastic is toxic and deadly to chinchillas. That means no water bottle, ramps, hide, food dish...etc. If parts of your cage are plastic, they must be covered in anti-pull fleece. Know Chinchillas shouldn’t have anything but their food (Oxbow Chinchilla), timothy hey and occasion oats, cheerios, or rosehips. NOTHING ELSE. They need dust baths 3 X a week. They can live 20+ years, if you provide proper care. Now meet these 3 cuties, they are three males all 8 weeks old (brothers) & weaned- ready in 7 days. 11/16 They are looking for their forever homes, we handle our babies as soon as they are born. I was present at this birth, so I got to hold them for the first time when they were only seconds old. Very social, mom is very social and has really shaped them into cuddle bugs. We put ALOT into our babies! They will go with some food, although I strongly advise against changing foods, as they are on the top chinchilla food. We will hold a Chinchilla, for a deposit (nonrefundable) if you require time to get all the proper things as listed above.
