Eleanor the German Shepherd Mutt, 4 y/o, happy & healthy

Description
We adopted Eleanor from a Baja-based rescue at 5 months old. It was suspected that she had lived the majority of that time on the streets fending for herself. She is 4 years old now, weighs about 60lb, and is a loving member of our family. She is a GSD mixed with about a half-dozen other things and true to her breed is very loyal to her family and very wary of strangers. This is a dog who will bark her head off at a stranger on your property and then let your baby climb on her two minutes later. She is by no means “friendly” but not aggressive towards strangers, responds very well to commands, and she loves her people. She is great at the dog park/dog beach, and a good walker and jogging buddy with her harness. Also loves to play fetch and swim. Thankfully she is also accustomed to a more sedentary lifestyle (i.e. she’s not going for walks everyday and she’s cool with it). We are heartbroken at the idea of giving our dog up, but we are moving and circumstances dictate that we would need to board Eleanor for the next 3-6 months. While we are willing and able to do that, we truly believe that Eleanor would be happier staying in San Diego with a young and active person/couple/family. We have no reason to believe that she won’t get along in a house with other dogs (she has successfully boarded in a private home with other dogs large and small) and does very well with our 18 month old (Eleanor tolerates so much from our little one... tail pulling, smacks on the face, being climbed on, and still runs to greet and kiss our little one every time we come home). Eleanor has been neutered, tick and heartworm tested, wormed, flea treated, house-trained and is up-to-date with her shots. Medical records will be provided along with all of her toys, flea/heartworm meds, beds, food, & treats. Asking a reasonable rehoming fee to ensure she goes to a good and loving home. Would like to meet up with potential new-parents at a dog park for a play session to ensure everyone is a good fit.
