Hello NV neighbor! I've been proofreading (and teaching creative expression, in general) for just about 20 years (a few months off!). I started as a teenager, offering to read & edit homework and to teach art classes for neighbors and family friends. It quickly became work I fell in love with and would find everywhere, even as I moved all around the country over the next two decades. For proofreading, the going rate for us freelancers is around $0.01/word or $2.80/page. (Added to that is usually only considerations for holidays, weekdays, rush jobs, added workloads, etc. and is something we always work out beforehand.). For art classes, I've only recently started charging due to economic factors, I usually ask for $20 per hour and I provide the initial art supplies. However, I can work with what you need and you've got.
