To be considered for any position at Dank Bros, a candidate must possess these attributes – 1. A strong work ethic. Indoor cannabis farming is hard, physical work requiring mental focus that is carried out seven days a week. 2. A consistent focus on cleanliness. Every employee is expected to take initiative to contribute to the cleaning program and carry out cleaning tasks as assigned. 3. A demonstrated respect for every individual and to behave in ways that promote harmony in the workplace. Misogyny, racism, ageism, or other behaviors that are meant to demonstrate intolerance toward opinions not like your own are not welcome. 4. A commitment to clear and unambiguous compliance with OLCC regulations. Theft of product, disregard for approved product handling processes, or ingestion of cannabis in any form before or during work shifts, in or near the facility, is unacceptable and cause for immediate dismissal. Desired and Required Qualities A full-time trimmer is a batch worker earning wages based on a combination of finished, trimmed cannabis weight and an hourly wage for time spent performing functions away from the workstation. A preferred candidate will exhibit a willingness to excel at teamwork and possess a dependable, calm demeanor. Trim team members must be adaptable to shifts in harvest cycle schedules. Likewise, trimmers must demonstrate an attention to detail and desire to collaborate with others to maintain best practices. Due to the physical demands, a trimmer is considered full-time working 4 days per week, 6 hours per day and may be required to work as many a35 hours per week during peak times when volume is high. A general understanding of consumer preferences and cannabis features is desired but not required to be considered for the position. Core Functions • Self manages the cannabis product that is processed at the assigned desk, collaborating with the trim supervisor and other trimmers about techniques and best practice for tool maintenance, injury protection, and workplace safety. • Participates in the harvest which includes carrying and stacking 20+ pound bins through tight spaces. • Dependable technique that is approved for the Dank trim program: no finger trimming, using a sharp blade to clean every nug, no tray trimming, no rolling product in tray to remove leaf material. • Management of the assigned work station; maintaining daily cleaning routines for assigned workstation and the shared trim room space. • Demonstrates initiative as a team player and supportive crew member. • Practices safety and health management for the requirements of trimming schedules. • Participates in take down and bucking of harvested cannabis as required to support harvest schedules. • Participates in evaluations of cannabis health, general quality, and cannabis appearance. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Trimmers may possess extensive experience or be in the beginning stages of training as a successful trimmer in the Dank Bros trim program. He/she will have a positive attitude and possess a positive communication style that is suitable for the close quarters and frequent contact with others on the trimming crew. Dank Bros uses a science- and data-based approach to the grow system, business management, and health and safety policies. The incumbent must be aligned with that approach and be willing to adhere to standard processes and policies. Trimmers must possess essential knowledge: • Basic to sophisticated understanding of plant physiology and strain characteristics. • Basic to sophisticated understanding of cannabis processing and how to produce buds that are appealing to the eye and nose of the buyer. • Basic to sophisticated knowledge of plant strains and growth traits. • Basic to sophisticated knowledge of plant diseases, pests, and treatment strategies. Trimmers must possess essential skills: • Skill in developing rapport and trust with crew members and managers. • Skill in providing a team atmosphere of cooperation where continuous learning and continuous improvement is encouraged and supported. • Skill in adapting to changing conditions and demonstrating adaptability. • Skill in teaching and helping other employees to develop their knowledge and abilities. Trimmers must possess essential abilities: • Ability to calculate weights and trim totals for the strain recording log. • Ability to segregate trimmed products into separate categories, then accurately weigh and record weights. • Ability to receive performance feedback and incorporate feedback to improve the quality of contribution to Dank Bros and the trim program. • Ability to accurately follow rules and guidelines about the discard of cannabis plant parts and pieces according to OLCC handling requirements. • Ability to sustain and carry through on agreements with managers and crew members on grow program strategies. • Ability to communicate effectively in every setting. Expectations and Requirements Proof of a Covid-19 vaccination from an approved provider is required before employment can be considered. Dank Bros follows State of Oregon mask mandate advice; masks must be worn at all times in the facility. Covid-19 and variant transmission alert protocols are being used to protect employee health. Exposure to a Covid-19 positive individuals inside or outside the Dank facility will result in implementation of the Covid management policy which requires work stoppage and time off without pay, depending on proof of exposure to individuals with positive Covid-19 or variant tests.
