Hi, I'm Charles and I've been playing trumpet for over 20 years. Even though I play other instruments, trumpet (cornet/flugel) is what I'm best at and what I teach. I specialize in jazz big band, sight reading, and lead playing. I last played with the SF Jazz Monday Night Band in 2019 and continue to play regularly with local bands. I have experience giving private lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. I am accepting new students for private, regular, lessons in the East Bay. I charge reasonable rates for one hour lessons. I only teach in person. Please reach out if interested and tell me about your experience, what you've been working on lately, and what you want to get better at. Please include any questions you have for me. If you are a trumpeter who wants to get better, but can't afford lessons, please reach out anyway and we may be able to work something out.
