Position: Site Superintendent Department: Construction Services Reports To: General Site Superintendent Direct Reports: NA Position Location: Littleton, MA / Project Specific Site Locations Labor Classification: Salary/Exempt Years of Experience: 5 Years Minimum Normal Work Schedule: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday or as needed to project manage Position Summary: Responsible for providing coordination and execution of all construction disciplines at the project site and maintaining the project schedule and manpower to do the work. Implement and maintain the company's safety policy. Ensure that quality, performance, estimate, and budget restraints are met during construction and that written documentation is maintained for accountability of all trades and phases of the project. Involved in dealing with personnel issues, project recovery strategies to adjust slipping schedules and emergent work. Function/Responsibilities: • Assure that the site employees have a safe work environment and work safely so that 'zero' accident goals can be achieved. • Assure that a quality product is provided, and high expectations are achieved for the work performed. • Provide motivation and leadership required to achieve the required performance during the execution of the project. • Review estimates and schedules and interface with the Construction Services department to ensure project constructability, completeness of documents and compatibility with project scopes. • Establish and maintain client relations while accommodating their input and changes during the engineering and execution phase of the project. • Conduct safety and project reviews and assist with client/engineering meetings to provide status updates and obtain information concerning the project. Coordinate design issues with site crews, the modular manufacturer, various subcontractors, outside engineering firms and the customer. • Maintain construction budgets. • Assist with cost tracking of the project. • Control project expense, staying within the budget, and monitoring the project schedule. • Assist with the selection and supervision of subcontractors and vendors. • Manage construction to meet design and code documents. • Provide technical and estimating support to the Project Manager. • Utilize Procore Management Platform to the greatest extent possible for all administrative functions including but not limited to daily logs, RFI’s, contracts management, issues log, scheduling, and plan/drawing management Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Knowledge of construction principles and practice of quality assurance and quality control; safety practices and procedures; and computer-based information management systems. • Skill in performing standard quality assurance/quality control evaluation procedures. • Ability to implement a coordinated program for construction quality assurance; write clear and concise reports; work with a variety of field staff to plan, schedule, organize and coordinate the quality assurance program. • Field knowledge of construction installation and construction methodology and sequences. Lean and 5S: • Active participation in Lean/5S activities are included as part of this job • Adding opportunities for continual Lean/5S improvements Experience Required: • BS or AS in a Construction related field strongly preferred (i.e., Construction Management, Engineering) • Minimum 5 years demonstrated successful experience in construction management related activities required. • Proven abilities with project management, estimating, and cost tracking. • Experience in Modular Construction a plus. • Proven successful skills in negotiating construction and subcontractor contracts. • High degree of initiative and strong customer service focus. • Effective interpersonal, organization and communication skills required. Working knowledge of MS Office/Excel/Outlook. • OSHA 30 Certification. • Unrestricted MA Construction Supervisor License.
