Description
Coleman Engineering is accepting applications for the position of Chief Plant Operator - Wastewater. The Chief Plant Operator - Wastewater plans, develops, organizes, supervises, directs, and participates in the operation of the wastewater treatment facility; assists in the review and implementation of wastewater treatment facilities capital projects; and develops, directs, and administers procedures for ensuring regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will: • Understand the operation and maintenance of influent pump station and screen, ponds, and treatment facilities. • Be able to maintain clear and concise records and prepare, comprehend and evaluate a variety of reports and studies and provide recommendations and assess alternatives. • Troubleshoot complex operational and maintenance problems. • Perform a variety of operational tests and calculations and adjust operating equipment and methods to ensure compliance with local, State and Federal requirements. • Create and maintain a respectful and collaborative working environment. LOCATION Wastewater treatment facility located in Hamilton City, CA. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. College-level course work in wastewater operations, management and supervision, or related fields is desired. Experience: Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater treatment plant facilities and related systems, including at least one (1) year in a lead capacity. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE A valid California Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record is a condition of initial and continued employment. A valid Grade I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification from the California State Water Resources Control Board is a condition of initial and continued employment.
