Lessons From Last Tuesday's Elections

Description
Democrats have been trying to re-group after the poor showing in last Tuesday's elections. A number of times it has been presented the reason for the defeat in Virginia, and other places, was the American people expected faster action on Biden's Build Back Better spending program. But the problem goes much deeper than that. Americans have recognized Congress has been so involved in the Infrastructure and Social Spending legislation, and so polarized and paralyzed with bickering and finger pointing, they have largely ignored other pressing issues more relevant to the masses. Most Americans want secure borders. The idea that anyone who illegally tromps across the Rio Grande and, more often than not, is allowed to stay in the US is a slap in the face to our values. There are immigration laws and Americans are getting tired of an administration ignoring those laws. If the laws need changing, get on with it. In the meantime, give our border agents the resources needed to do the jobs we expect from them. People are tired of the increasing cost of gasoline, housing, food and so many other things. They find it hypocritical to restrict US energy production while increasing imports of that energy from overseas. Energy Independence seems to be a phrase of the past in this administration, but is very much favored by the people who elected the people we expect to represent us. We are running out of many things due to the “logjam” at our ports. The administrations, both Federal and California, have been “too little and too late” addressing this very important issue. All the state of California administrators can offer is vague “finger pointing” to covid, lack of truck drivers, lack of containers, forty-hour work weeks and others. In the meantime, we are not getting deliveries of vital goods needed to kick in our economy and getting back to work. What to do about it? I have ideas, but I’m not making the big bucks like the guys, and gals, warming chairs up in Sacramento. That is what we are paying them for and what we expect from them and why we are getting tired of their inactions. Get on with it! There are so many more issues, but the point is, last Tuesday’s election should have been a huge wakeup call to Democrats. We, the people, are getting tired of their promises, inactions and regulations. Without some major changes in the way they do business, November 8, 2021, one year from yesterday, is going to be an electoral bloodbath.
