Description

Bert the Mini Australian Shepard up for adoption. I need to find a new home for our families Mini Australian Shepherd, Bert. We bought him from a breeder as a young puppy. He is a great companion, that needs a loving home. My wife and I recently had a daughter who is currently 15 months old. Bert has not adjusted well to having a baby/toddler in the house. He has never harmed her and never tried to bite her, but is generally fearful of her as she becomes more and more mobile. Bert is a sweet dog at heart and can show so much love. However, he has very high anxiety that can be triggered by many different things. Once he is anxious Bert has a lot of trouble calming down. He has never been aggressive towards me, but he unfortunately bit my wife’s hand once when she was attempting to put him on his line in the backyard. He will bark consistently until he becomes comfortable with the people around and his physical surroundings. That being said, at night he cuddles on the couch, and shows his trusted people much love. He is the most athletic dog I have ever seen. He also will hunt the squirrels in our backyard and catch most of them. His high energy needs a home that can help him relieve that. We have another dog who we had when we got Bert. A male Aussie and they treat each other like brothers. We also have two cats who Bert treats very gently and has never had any issue with them. He would be best in a home where there are no children or other dogs (even though he gets along with our other dog, he has never gotten along with any other dog). Besides anxiety he has no other health issues. Weighs around 35 pounds and is up to date on immunizations. If you can give him a good living home, please contact me. I love this dog, however I’m out of options at this point. Happy to answer any questions, just email me.
