Description

Small project for a machine shop guy. I have three Brass pieces I need to be cut and machined. One 1.5" x.5" x 11" brass bar drill one 5/16" hole near each end (two holes total) Drill one 29/64" hole in the center (I have a new bit for this) Tap this center hole to take a ½" x 20NF threaded bolt One 1" x.5" x 11" brass bar cut off a 2" long piece Drill ½” hole in the center of the 2" long piece One ½" diameter brass rod 12" long cut it down to 8" long Leave ½" at one end smooth and use a die to thread the rest of the 8" piece to a ½" x 20NF thread - to fit the hole in the center of the treaded brass bar Glue or weld the smooth end of the threaded brass rod into the ½" hole in the 2" bar piece This makes a ‘T’ shaped piece of the smaller brass bar with the threaded rod in the center that can screw into the hole in the middle of the larger brass bar. That is the entire project - probably less than a one hour job for a machine shop. It is just two cuts, drill 4 holes, and thread one hole and the rod. I was going to try this myself, but I lack the needed tools, like a drill press, and I lack the skills to be confident that I can make the end result look good. Please email me with what you will charge - cash - to have this gig. Give me your town. I will drop the parts by your place and pick up the finished job when done.
