General Statement of Duties: Maintenance and security of the building. Twelve month school- year with wages established within the Unit E contract.
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Performance Responsibilities:
Clean and dust classrooms, windows, corridors, and other spaces as assigned.
Report needed repairs, safety hazards, or maintenance problems promptly to the supervisor. Take necessary action to correct or warn of the hazard.
Requisition necessary equipment or materials for proper discharge of duties.
See that rooms are properly heated and that proper air-circulation is maintained.
Secure and lock facilities according to schedule.
Make minor repairs as directed.
Guard against waste of fuel, water, light, power and supplies.
Must work cooperatively with teachers and others on staff, including fellow custodians.
Report and remove graffiti promptly.
Strip and re-wax floors as directed.
Operate assigned equipment safely.
Perform other duties assigned by the Principal and Superintendent/Director.
Qualifications:
Skills and competencies to complete assigned cleaning and maintenance responsibilities.
At least 2 years experience in custodial or building maintenance work.
Dependable and responsible in carrying out assigned responsibilities with minimum supervision.
Act appropriately and respectfully with all students, staff and the public.
Able to perform heavy physical labor including lifting up to 60 pounds.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the school collective bargaining agreement for Unit E.
Note: A specific requirement may be waived if an outstanding candidate is qualified in all other aspects.
