Pam is a wife, mother, community leader, and a person living in long-term recovery from a substance use disorder. Currently, in her 26th year of recovery, she takes advantage of every opportunity to share her passion for the gifts and hope recovery has given her. She is co-founder of Oregon Recovery High School Initiative, which launched the first recovery high school in our state --Harmony Academy in Lake Oswego, Oregon and the Alternative Peer Group (APG), now an initiative of Madrona Recovery. She has been honored and recognized for her work both personally and professionally sharing the message that prevention is the cure and that hope and healing are not only possible but real. The leadership of Lake Oswego Prays (a Lake Oswego based prayer network) believes that faith communities build stronger communities, and one way for faith communities to come together is through prayer. This network recognizes and celebrates that each faith has its own unique and powerful story. Though spawned from a Judeo-Christian perspective, this spiritual community welcomes an interfaith expression of prayer allowing individuals to remain grounded within their distinctive faith traditions. To this end, Lake Oswego Prays is an ongoing interactive prayer opportunity for mutual encouragement, joy, and relationship-building by means of social media connectivity and periodic gathered prayer events so that all people touched by the Lake Oswego community would flourish.
