How crazy is NYC these days?

New York City NY

Description

Baltimore based musician and sometimes actor. I lived in Ridgewood for a year (2017-2018) did some acting work here and there the first few months I was there and then got out because the Weinstein thing just really jaded me. Not that I had any illusions about what the industry was but when entry level theater company actresses are telling you their stories about producers being gross, it really knocks the wind out of your sails. Anyway, I've been considering a move to Nashville BUT, something in me is telling me that I left stones unturned in NY. I do like nyc, i know it well, I can handle the hustle. I'm just wondering how crazy the city is in regards to crime resurgence, vaccine passports (avid gym goer, health nut, already had covid long ago, don't want the stupid shot) dining out, rent prices etc. I've said for months "if the world was what it was pre covid, I'd consider going back to NYC", well, here I am considering again. Nashville is a much bigger jump and the focus would solely be on music. But the probability of success is, in my opinion, lower. I was landing auditions and parts left and right in 2017 and I'm fairly confident in my ability to do it again. New Yorkers, I need your insight. How crazy is it these days? I haven't been since before the pandemic. But it's between whatever is going on up north, or yee-haw, no masks, pew pew, Nashville. Any insight is appreciated!
