Join Columbus Gives Back at Santa's Workshop in the Van Buren Shelter! Columbus Gives Back invites you to join us at the YMCA Van Buren Center in giving children a magical holiday! What: Volunteering in Santa's Workshop includes opportunities to help our parents select gifts and toys for each child in their family, wrap gifts, and disinfect and sanitize the Winter Wonderland between shoppers Where: Van Buren Center, 595 Van Buren Dr. Columbus, OH 43223 When: Saturday, December 18th (9:00am - 1:00pm) Event Leaders: [email protected] COVID-19 Precautions: Columbus Gives Back is following all recommended social / hygiene protocols. Masks are no longer required for outdoor events but please bring one to the event in case our nonprofit partners require them. Masks and social distancing are still required for all indoor events. If you were exposed before or test positive after having participated in a CGB event, please contact the event leader or reach out to [email protected] so that we can best support contact tracing efforts. About YMCA Van Buren: The mission of the Van Buren shelter is to support and strengthen the community by addressing the needs of individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The YMCA provides a safe and healthy environment and assists individuals while they are resolving their housing crisis. Not only does the center serve as a shelter for the homeless, but it offers housing and employment assistance, Southeast, Inc. treats medical and behavioral health as a federally qualified health center, and Freedom a la Cart feeds three meals a day, seven days a week. As of May 1st, outdoor/patio social twists will be coordinated at the discretion of event leaders and volunteers.
