Learn how to take waterfowl hunting setup basics out on the water in this free, outdoor waterfowl decoy workshop! Come join us as we take waterfowl hunting setup basics out on the water in this free, outdoor workshop hosted by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. We'll be discussing and demonstrating different decoy setups, styles and configurations using effective decoys on an actual pond. We'll address how to take into account and adjust for variables such as wind, sun and cover. We'll also go over decoy placement variations based upon the number and species of decoys and hunting location. What to expect: This is an outdoor workshop. DWR will be using one of their ponds to demonstrate actual decoy setups, styles and configurations. Attendees will need to come dressed/prepared for the weather and plan on standing near the edge of a pond for the duration of the workshop.
