Stillwater OK
Description
Looking for Stillwater regional musicians. If you have good chops, are willing to work on broadening and improving your skill level, not scared to play "off the cuff" and know how to use your gear sensibly and are willing to work on material utilizing the best tones or instruments amps & effects combination out of our collective gear stashes for each piece as needed because it sounds the best. Willing to concentrate on great tone over output volume. You are interested in doing track work at some point for possible future studio opportunity or doing new material development. Personally I am a huge fan of Sir George Martin, Alan Parsons, Frank Zappa and Quincy Jones, cool studio stuff takes cool minds and willingness to try the weird stuff sometimes. Those 4 wrote the book on great recordings. You want to gel with other talented players, enjoy the ability to get good paying gigs and having alot of fun being able to play fun material. Enjoy fun jams. Be a part of a Stillwater local Icon at some point. I am working on having a multi faceted group of musicians from the Stillwater region who can contribute their talent to do power trio, four or five piece or even larger band as needed to perform at events like corporate parties, weddings, funeral wakes, festivals, biker events, BBQ's Fraternity or Sorority or alumni events, even select bar gigs for the right money. If you are a music major at OSU, especially awesome horn section cats, percussionist and keyboard wizards, old school gigging musician from back in the day, or just someone who has nice gear and never gets a chance to use it. This could be right up your alley. "If you can't do adversity, don't gig" - Frank Zappa I have run ads at DaddyO's and here on Craigslist without any decent responses, a couple of no call no shows to jam. Stillwater used to be a great town for doing band gigs and had great local bands, There is still a bunch of great talented instrumentalist and all around capable musicians here. Post Covid excuses are starting to wear thin, nothing is better than a good local rock and roll band, cold beers and good food at a fun venue or event. I am open to jam, hear your own material ideas, share some of my ideas with you. Sitting around the house playing with backing tracks and solo is really boring after the last couple of years doing it. I know some of you feel the same. Hollar at me, we might have a couple hours of fun we never planned on.
