Over the last decade he has gone from teaching himself guitar while editing recordings of slide-master Mississippi Fred McDowell to touring internationally and working with renowned chefs (Sean Brock), photographers (Mark Klett), and poets (Reginald Dwayne Betts, Heather McHugh). Now based in Nashville, Turchi is currently touring in support of two new albums. "Creosote Flats" began as a series of field recordings made in Saguaro National Park outside of Tucson, Arizona, and invokes the spirit of the Sonoran Desert, influenced by Saharan Desert Blues (Tinariwen, Bombino, Mdou Moctar). "I've Chosen Love" stems from swampier roots, reflecting the North Mississippi & Memphis blues and soul that began Turchi's career, and features special guests Anthony Farrell (Greyhounds), Johnny Radelat (Gary Clark Jr.), and Art Edmaiston (Gregg Allman). Joining Turchi on the road and rounding out the Kudzu Trio is bassist/keyboardist Ben Sparaco, who has shared the stage with Butch Trucks, Oteil Burbridge, and G. Love and now fronts the indie-psych duo Slow Pass, and drummer Aaron Lawson, a Berklee College of Music graduate. Email: 0 Website: http://tvdev.site/organizer/smileys-schooner-saloon/
