Film Screening and Community Discussion - Slavery By Another Name
What's Really Goin' On is community organized conversation series about the moral necessity of prison abolition and how to achieve it.
Join us to watch Slavery By Another Name - a documentary that challenges one of Americans' most cherished assumptions: the belief that slavery in this country ended with the Emancipation Proclamation. The film tells how even as chattel slavery came to an end in 1865, thousands of African Americans were pulled back into forced labor with shocking force and brutality.
Please plan on arriving 15 min early for seating. Film will begin promptly at 6:00pm.
