About Pooghans: They have fun and loving dispositions, great with other animals. Perfect for families or individuals! Very distinguished and rare. They will grow into large dogs; 45-60lbs. They have taken on more of the Afghan Hound look with straighter, silky fur. The Pooghan crossbreed is truly a no-shed, hypo-allergenic breed as neither of the parent breeds shed. Both the Standard Poodle and the Afghan Hound have human-like hair. Pooghans are playful, happy dogs that are great with kids and good for first-time dog owners. Like most Doodles, the Pooghan is very social, and gets along well with people and other dogs. They are gentle, friendly and very family-oriented, and enjoy family life - a lot! Their life expectancy is 10-15 years. The Pooghan brings the smarts of the Poodle together with the sight hound awareness of the Afghan. With any large dog, its important obedience and socialization be completed when young to successfully integrate them into a family environment and ensure they play nice with other animals.
