Description

Support veterans and the Josephine Herrick Project by getting a professional photo of yourself from a portrait photographer. Photography has the power to change lives. Since WWII, the Josephine Herrick Project has used photography to help veterans amplify their voices, learn new skills, and connect with their communities. Now you can help us bring new programs not just to vets but to youth and adults with disabilities, immigrant/refugee teens, vulnerable seniors, people living in public housing, and other under-resourced groups. How? By donating and stepping in front of the camera at a special one-day fundraising event. Your $300 donation will give you a personal studio session with music and portrait photographer Alberto Vasari, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and longtime JHP volunteer and board member. You’ll receive a professional head shot you can use to spruce up your social media profile or a more casual studio portrait you’ll want to frame and hang on the wall. Individual portrait sessions will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. EST. Guests will be checked in accordance with NYC Covid-19 protocols, which require proof of vaccination and ID. Arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment for a touch-up with makeup artist Landy Dean before your shoot! Want the full glamour treatment? Let us know in advance and come at least 45 minutes before your slot. Enjoy a fast and fabulous photo studio experience while donating money to a cause with the potential to transform lives. We amplify underrepresented voices through photography, giving people skills to see differently and advocate for themselves and their communities.
