Guided MPA Hike from Little Corona del Mar to Crystal Cove Join OCH in hiking the Crystal Cove Marine Protected Area (MPA) from Little Corona del Mar to Crystal Cove (and back). We will take a hike that is approximately 2.5 miles long through the intertidal zone and learn about the area, the habitat, and its accompanied species. Bring your own water, snack, and hat/sunscreen and wear sturdy closed-toed shoes. Meet at Lifeguard Tower #7 on Little Corona del Mar Beach, which is down the winding trail near Poppy and Ocean. We will begin promptly at the start time. Parking is available on the residential streets above the beach whose entrance can be found at the south end of Ocean Blvd (Ocean Blvd and Poppy Ave). ATTN: Please note that the address listed in the event info is the address closest to the entrance to the beach. Space is limited, so be sure to register early! All participants must be 10 years or older and anyone under 14 must have a parent/guardian present. All attendees need to fill out the accompanying waiver and have signed the day before the event. Any minors must have their waiver signed by an adult before we begin. The mission of OC Habitats (OCH) is to provide a public service for the many habitats of Orange County, California through conservation efforts, rehabilitation, restoration, education, outreach, volunteerism, monitoring, and partnering with other entities whose goal is to promote the preservation, conservation, and restoration of natural habitats and the species therein.
