Our annual luncheon provides an opportunity to bring agricultural leaders together and celebrate the accomplishments of the year. Our annual luncheon provides an opportunity to recognize the efforts of the hundreds of volunteers who make our work possible. We will also announce the tenth annual AgVocate of the Year award to recognize South Dakota farmers and ranchers for their work in sharing the story of modern farming with the public. We are happy to welcome Dr. Luke Minion as our luncheon keynote speaker. Dr Minion is the CEO of PIPESTONE, Chairman of the Board for Wholestone Farms and Chairman of the Board for PIPESTONE. He will share insights on how the pork industry and pork producers have managed through the past 18 months, as well as talk about the recently-announced Wholestone Farms pork processing facility that is being planned for Sioux Falls. The $500 million state of art facility will process more than 3 million hogs a year with 1,100 employees. Ag United for South Dakota is a coalition of farm organizations with a goal of keeping family farms growing.  Coalition members include the South Dakota Cattleman’s Association, the South Dakota Corn Growers Association, the South Dakota Dairy Producers, South Dakota Farm Bureau, South Dakota Pork Producers Council, South Dakota Poultry Industries Association and the South Dakota Soybean Association.  To learn more, visit www.agunited.org.
