The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People DeKalb County Branch is hosting its 65 Annual Freedom Fund Gala The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) DeKalb County Branch is hosting its 63rd Annual Freedom Fund Awards & Scholarship Gala - The Masquerade! This formal affair will be a Mardi Gras theme masked ball taking place Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. Courtyard Atlanta Decatur Downtown/Emory, 130 Clairemont Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030. The celebration will be well attended by various community leaders and elected County officials. The President’s Nominee and Sponsor’s VIP Reception will begin at 6:00 PM.                                                                   Entertainment by Special Guest, Platinum recording artists Switch                                                     A STRICTLY FORMAL AFFAIR                                              The favor of a reply is requested by December 3rd, 2021                                                                 The DeKalb Branch of the NAACP has been faithfully serving the community for 64 years with the mission of advocating for political, educational, social, and economic equality for all citizens, as well as eradicating racial injustice. NAACP DeKalb County Branch is honored to recognize the significant contributions of community leaders who represent our diverse DeKalb County population. This year’s theme is “Unmasking Freedom Disparities”. This year’s gala will honor eight (8) great leaders in our community who have made noteworthy achievements toward civil rights. In addition, the gala will raise money for our scholarship fund. raises funds for the Branch to implement effective local and National NAACP civil rights programs with focus in the areas of education, civic engagement, economic sustainability, health, public safety, criminal justice and youth work.                                                 For additional information and if you have any questions, please contact our office at 404-241-8006 or [email protected]. The NAACP DeKalb County Branch, the county’s oldest non-profit civil rights organization,  was started in 1955. Originally chartered to assist men, women and children as well; the NAACP DeKalb County Branch continues to focus its efforts on addressing social injustices and encouraging community involvement.  Located in South DeKalb, the NAACP DeKalb County Branch offers educational programs and seminars and encourages individuals to get involved! The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination. The vision of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure a society in which all individuals have equal rights and there is no racial hatred or racial discrimination. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is an African-American civil rights organization in the United States, formed in 1909.
