Description

Hey! I've got a crew of framers making significant progress on getting a 1200 square foot ADU (4br/3ba) going in East Oakland and we're gearing up for energizing this structure with electricity as I write this. I'm interested in hiring a solid electrician to upgrade a panel from 1 meter to 2 meters (see the existing meter in the pictures), run our main line through existing conduit (see the gray pipe in all images), and to start pushing forward with rough electric installations according to our plans! We will move in sequence with plumbers as they start their work, but we're ready to move. Walls are up! Here are critical things you should know: 1. PGE has approved this meter change and we are waiting to move forward. 2. We have a requirement to put up solar. I do not want to put solar panels up now, of course, but I do want to make sure we're prepared to put solar on the roof later. So, you should know what equipment we need and what conversations we need to have with PGE to make sure we're ready. Don't worry, you don't need to be a solar expert, we just want to get the hardware ready to receive solar later. 3. We'll be drawing another 100 amp service back to a subpanel in the ADU and the current panel is also providing 100 amps to the main home. 4. Ask tons of questions. Better to know the details than guess! :) If you are an electrician at any level of skill, find me. You will need to be able to handle a meter upgrade and you'll need to be able to run a big-ass cable about 100 feet through elbows and whatnot in-slab, but otherwise, we're not doing anything crazy yet. Come find me! See the photos. Both email and text work to contact me. The numbers are just obscured below to avoid spam, but check here: 7-five-7 -- seven-seven-3 -- 0960 (when you text, please give me your name and your trade or I'll lose your contact info!) While this post stays open, I am open to having you join our crew! We're moving!
