Description

Write a Haiku with Basho and Freeman: A Signing and Activity with Freeman Ng Collaborate with the late haiku master Basho, and author Freeman Ng, on a unique poem you can take home! Also pick up the beautiful picture book Basho's Haiku Journey, a great gift for young readers this holiday season. For this special event, we appreciate RSVPs to help us gauge interest and estimate book quantity needs, but anyone is welcome to swing by! How it works: 1) You write the first line 2) Basho "writes" the second line using a computer program created by Freeman! 3) Freeman writes the last line 4) You get to take home your unique poem on a special card. Stop by and take advantage of this great way to introduce your young ones to poetry! About the book:The story of the first great haiku poet, Matsuo Basho, who gave up his comfortable city existence for a wayfaring life, eventually making five famous journeys across the length and breadth of 17th century Japan. Written entirely in haiku and illustrated with lovingly hand-painted art by Cassandra Rockwood Ghanem.
