Old school metal guitarist seeking bassist & drummer

Description

Old school metal guitarist looking to restart a badly failed band with a new bassist and drummer. Have been playing off and on for a long time, lost my chops about 10 years ago, but am pretty good at pretending that I can still play. My influences are all over the place, but this is a 3-piece metal/instrumental project (think Russian Circles, Pelican, or the cool Metallica instrumentals from the 80s). I have about 4-5 songs halfway written from the last project (tell me you have ADHD without telling me you have ADHD) and would want to move forward with those songs and write a few more. I can send what's currently written if that's helpful. Its equally helpful if you send some samples my way when you respond. I work better with musicians who come with half-assed ideas where we can riff, layer, and write melodies/harmonies on top of together. Jamming in a room together is a must - I want to explore ideas with musicians who have the tenacity/patience to work through randomness until something interesting evolves. I like to think I have a good sense of melody/harmony, but I could be completely delusional (which might also be entertaining). I have my own gear and transportation, but prefer not to travel beyond the south bay, for obvious traffic reasons. If you are extra rad, or have a rehearsal space (I don't currently have one), or both, I would consider it (my bar is pretty low, so you have a decent chance). Goal is to write, record, play shows. I'm pretty serious about getting something going, so if you are just looking to kill time while your partner is off screwing your neighbor, you should swipe left. Age/gender/orientation isn't a consideration, but if you are self-aware enough to know that you have stupid crazy drug/alcohol issues, you need not apply. Personality disorders are fun for a couple weeks, but that gets tedious, so please at least be heavily medicated. Beginners and experienced players are equally welcome, as long as you have some creativity and a good dose of motivation. You should at the very least have your gear and transportation situation sorted.
