PLYMOUTH, MA — A Plymouth man has been arrested after he allegedly tried to break into a college student's Cambridge apartment with a screwdriver before fleeing and stabbing a man nearby, police said. Mark Pincus, 35, of Plymouth, faces a litany of felony charges in connection with the incidents, which occurred separate from each other on Sunday morning, NBC10 Boston reported. A preliminary investigation found that Pincus, armed with a knife, attempted to enter a residence on Sciarappa Street in Cambridge at around 8:20 a.m. Sunday, 7 News Boston reported. He made it through the main door of the building, then tried to get through a second door and into the apartment of a college student who NECN identified as Julia by using a screwdriver. "All of a sudden it was this huge thump, and I went and opened the door," Julia told NECN. "It was half open and then he tried to come in, so I pushed him out of the door." Pincus then ran from the Sciarappa Street residence and stabbed a man in his 50s who was sitting in his truck about a block away, near Cambridge and Fifth Streets, police said, as reported by NBC10. The man was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, NBC10 said. Pincus was located in the area a short time later and taken into custody, 7 News said. He faces charges including home invasion, armed assault to murder, resisting arrest, assault and battery on a police officer, carrying a dangerous weapon, and providing a false name/social security number after an arrest.
