This is a medium-dark blend with flavorful tasting notes of berry, almond, dark chocolate, and brown sugar. For us, our new coffee reflects Last Mile Cafe’s journey in discovering our purpose, which is why we wanted to incorporate something special into this third blend. The coffee industry faces a serious predicament: The average age of coffee farmers has increased to 57 years old, which could lead to a severe talent shortage in the future. Many organizations are coming together to train and inspire young coffee growers to succeed in the industry and Last Mile Cafe was excited to join in that effort. The coffees in this blend are sourced from young farmers under the age of 35 in Cafinorte’s Young Coffee Producers Program in Northern Cauca, Unión Pequeños Productores (UPC) in Guatemala, and an all women-led coffee mill in Burundi.
