Description
These pieces were used as a seat to warm by the fireplace along with being a trivet for hot water boiled in the hearth for tea.
This piece is marvelous with hand-punched pierced design patterns on the top and three sides, ornate brass handles on each side, beautiful cabriole front legs and hard to find penny feet. And it's in remarkable shape.
The more ornate these pieces were made the more they cost at that time so this clearly came from a wealthy English home, probably in London.
It measures about: 13 1/2"H x 13 1/2"W x 10 1/2"D.
I can send you more photos if you're interested.
