STRATFORD, CT — Mayor Laura R. Hoydick has lifted the requirement for wearing facemasks for all staff and visitors to all town buildings regardless of vaccination status, effective immediately.
Hoydick put the policy in place in August during a surge in the regional COVID-19 positivity rate as an added precaution against transmission. She made the decision to lift the requirement Monday in consultation with the Stratford Health Department, according to a news release.
Hoydick noted that for those wishing to be vaccinated there are many available options from local health departments, pharmacies and hospitals. She also noted that "individual businesses remain, as they have throughout the pandemic, able to set their own individual policies about mask use in their place of business for employees and patrons," the news release states.
