Student Stabbed Outside Of Blair High, Suspect Now In Custody

SILVER SPRING, MD — A student suspected of stabbing another student in the parking lot of Montgomery Blair High School Monday morning is now in custody, said Montgomery County Police Chief of Police Marcus Jones. Officers were called around 10 a.m. and the student who was stabbed was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police. Principal Renay Johnson told families in a letter that the suspect left the school after the stabbing, but was returned to school by the suspect's parents. Police said they are not releasing the name or gender of the suspect or victim, and both are minors. The school was in lockdown and then shelter-in-place for part of the morning. "Thanks to our officers for their quick work," Marcus said in a tweet. This story has been updated.
