GREENWICH, CT — The Assessor's Office has completed preliminary assessments for the Oct. 1, 2021 revaluation, according to an update from First Selectman Fred Camillo. Each property owner should receive a notice of their assessment change after Nov. 8. The new assessments reflect the value of the property as of Oct. 1, 2021. That assessment will be reflected in the July 1, 2022 tax bill. All municipalities in Connecticut conduct a revaluation of property every five years, with the last revaluation done for the 2015 Grand List. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, last year's revaluation was extended by the state Office of Policy and Management. Taxpayers should contact the revaluation companies with any comments, questions, or concerns about their new assessment. Taxpayers are urged to schedule an informal hearing with these companies between mid-November 2021 to mid-January, 2022. "There will be plenty of opportunities to schedule an informal hearing, including some evenings until 7 p.m. and Saturdays until 5 p.m. The informal hearings will be held at Town Hall.," Camillo said in the announcement.
