Sleepy Hollow Preschool in Annandale, Virginia is seeking a FOUR day assistant teacher for our three and four-year-old classrooms starting in Fall 2021. Sleepy Hollow is a play-based cooperative preschool. We believe that children learn best through play including: hands-on learning, creating and exploring, and imaginative play. Our teachers work to foster children’s learning through these avenues. The ideal candidate is a team player, flexible, warm, caring, organized, and energetic and who brings positive energy to school every day. Responsibilities include supporting the lead teacher in implementing a hands on curriculum, interacting positively with children, instructing and directing parents in the performance of their cooping jobs, and having a strong commitment to children learning through play. The applicant must be knowledgeable about early childhood development, including social, emotional, language and cognitive ages and stages, be able to support children in growing self-esteem, and demonstrate respectful interactions while working with students, parents and co-workers. Filling every day with adventures and fun for children is our priority! This is a part-time position, and school runs half a day, Tuesday through Friday.
