Warehouse Operations Specialist Denver Rescue Mission Description The Ministry Outreach Center Warehouse Operations Specialist is a full-time, non-exempt position of Denver Rescue Mission (DRM) which must agree with and abide by our Statement of Faith and Ministry Principles. In addition, all employees must comply with policies as summarized in the DRM Employee Handbook. Who are we? Denver Rescue Mission serves people experiencing homelessness and poverty through emergency services, rehabilitation, transitional programs, permanent housing assistance and community outreach. Hiring Range:$18.00-$22.00 based on qualifications and experience Denver Rescue Mission Benefits Comprehensive health, dental and vision benefits Generous vacation, sick time, and holiday pay Tuition reimbursement and child adoption benefits available Employer paid term life Insurance and long-term disability Health savings account and flexible spending account 401(k) with 5% company match Requirements RESPONSIBILITIES  Pickup and delivery of Gift-in-Kind donations with fleet box trucks, based on the needs established in the daily staff meetings.  Transport critical supplies, including meals to and from Denver Rescue Missions’ kitchens and shelters.  Purchase and transport materials as requested by the Ministry Outreach Center Manager, Receiving and Distribution Specialist, or other staff.  Pick up and load furniture from donors’ residences.  Ensure fleet vehicles are fueled, thoroughly cleaned, and properly maintained.  Complete Department of Transportation pre-trip inspections on required fleet vehicles.  Ensure forklifts and floor scrubbers are properly maintained.  Transport New Life Program participants to Denver Rescue Mission sites and various functions.  Deliver office furniture and other materials to various Denver Rescue Mission sites.  Pickup donated vehicles as assigned.  Assist in snowplowing when necessary.  Promote a healthy spiritual environment and exhibit an encouraging and respectful manner at all times.  Display the ideals of “humble, hungry and smart” as described in Patrick Lencioni’s book, “The Ideal Team Player”.  Participate in continuous improvement projects and trainings, utilizing Agile and Lean Methodologies and promoting departmental values  Attend weekly staff meetings.  Maintain frequent communication with the Receiving & Distribution Supervisor on warehouse tasks. This can include, but is not limited to, processing donations from the donation dock, sweeping and picking up trash around the warehouse, and helping organize the racking, cooler, and freezer.  Assist in the organization on volunteer projects around the warehouse.  Encourage, and hold participants accountable through Scribe software by writing HHS assessments and Incident Reports when appropriate.  Assist Commodity Assistance Partners in the check-out process as they take food and other items from the Ministry Outreach Center.  Willingness to engage in continuous improvement projects and trainings.  Assist the Food Distribution Coordinator and Client Services Coordinator as needed.  Other duties as assigned by the Receiving & Distribution Supervisor. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must hold a current, valid Colorado Driver’s License and be willing to authorize a driver’s record background check. Willingness to operate forklift and obtain forklift certification. Willingness to operate tow truck and obtain tow truck certification. Strong work ethic, communication skills and the ability to resolve conflict professionally. Proficient at following a schedule. A friendly and thankful attitude to all donors, staff, and volunteers. Strong Christian ethic with ability to work with people of diverse cultural, educational, and religious backgrounds. Basic knowledge of Windows software applications. Able to lift at least 40 lbs. without assistance. Willingness to work overtime on weekends and some holidays.
