When authorities and EMS arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas where he died of his injuries. The victim was later identified as 52-year-old James Traylor. According to a witness, there was a disagreement between Traylor and a female neighbor over the alleged theft of a "Bouncy House." The argument ended with the woman shooting Traylor multiple times and then fleeing the scene. The following day, the Travis County Medical Examiner's office conducted an autopsy and determined Traylor's cause of death was due to multiple gunshots. Authorities later ruled his death a homicide. The incident marks the city's 77th homicide of 2021.
