NAPERVLLE, IL — Jason Zbrozek, a 23-year veteran of the Naperville Police Department (NPD), has been named deputy chief of the department and will head up the investigations division. Zbrozek signed on to the Naperville Police Department in 1998, when he got his start as a patrol officer. He rose through the ranks to become a Drug Enforcement Administration task force agent, a special groups detective, a financial crimes investigator and a sergeant. In 2019, Zbrozek was promoted to his most recent role of commander of investigations. Prior to starting with NPD, Zbrozek graduated from the School of Police Staff and Command at Northwestern University. He is set to attend the FBI-LEEDA Executive Leadership Institute in 2022, followed by the FBI National Academy in 2023. Zbrozek replaces former Deputy Chief Jason Arres, who will be sworn in as the newest Naperville police chief Nov. 10. Arres said of Zbrozek, "He's an experienced supervisor who leads by example, takes great pride in his job and exemplifies the City's core values daily. I look forward to Deputy Chief Zbrozek's continued leadership of the Investigations Division and contributions to our department's administrative team," per a news release. In a statement, Zbrozek said he was "grateful" for his new role with the police department. He added, "As the dynamics of our department continue to change, one of my main areas of focus will be on training, career development and succession planning to ensure we can maintain not only the high level of performance currently achieved by the Investigations Division but also our strong community and school partnerships and crime prevention efforts."
