MAPLE GROVE, MN — Minnesota transportation officials on Friday marked the imminent end of a two-year construction project on I-94 between Maple Grove and Rogers.
Traffic is now flowing in three lanes in each direction, with a fourth soon to open along that portion of the interstate, the Star Tribune reports.
That 11-mile stretch remains a work zone, as crews still have to complete some tasks, meaning the speed limit will stay at 60 through the end of November, the report states.

MnDOT Commissioner Margaret Anderson Kelliher said the interstate will be "smoother, safer and better" thanks to the improvements made over the last two years, the report states.
The $127 million project also included nine miles of new road and some improvements at intersections where local roads connect to the interstate, CCX Media reports.
The construction between Maple Grove and Rogers is part of a $350 million project to repair roads and add lanes on I-94 from Maple Grove to Clearwater.
