BURNSVILLE, MN — The Minnesota Department of Transportation advanced or completed 261 road and bridge projects during the 2021 construction season, including the I-35W Minnesota River Bridge Project in Burnsville and Bloomington.
The project replaced the bridge and pavement on I-35W between Cliff Rd. and 106th St., MnDOT said. Crews also raised I-35 out of the floodplain and improved pedestrian access across the river, the department said.
A trail was also constructed between Black Dog Rd. and Lyndale Ave., MnDOT said.
The project was a partnership between MnDOT and Hennepin and Dakota Counties, as well as the cities of Bloomington and Burnsville, the department said.
