Darsey will succeed current Director Cindy Murphy Kelley who is retiring Dec. 31. Currently, Darsey currently serves as VP of Direct Services and Impact at United Way of the Coastal Empire. The group says it has an agreement to buy the house that last year was labeled one of Georgia's most endangered historic sites. Virginia Kiah was a civil rights activist, artist, and teacher who turned her home into a museum for African American children banned from Savannah's segregated institutions.
