Many special vaccination events will be held across the County this week for those ages 5+. Visit www.MeckNC.gov/COVID-19 and click "Get Your Vaccination" for more information. The County's mask mandate is in effect until the seven-day positivity rate is below five percent for seven consecutive days. When that happens, the mask health rule will automatically end. Children and adults should continue to wear a mask in public spaces and around people they don't live with. Public Health recommends all individuals, including those who have been vaccinated, continue to wear a mask in high-risk settings like large gatherings and congregate living settings. As overall COVID-19 case numbers, hospitalizations and deaths in Mecklenburg County and statewide continue to fall, Mecklenburg County Commissioners voted to lower the threshold for the rule earlier this month. The new public health rule mentioned above goes into effect Nov. 17. ### This press release was produced by the Mecklenburg County Government. The views expressed here are the author's own.
