Children’s Museum of Atlanta celebrates gratitude as it announces a full month of education and excitement this November! With Thanksgiving activities like gratitude journaling and celebratory dance parties, kids will have the opportunity to learn about several cultural holidays, while enjoying all the Museum has to offer. In addition to these holiday happenings, families are also invited to a special American Sign Language (ASL) Family Day, hosted by Children’s Museum of Atlanta and Georgia Center of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. November Special Programming ASL Family Day with the Georgia Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Saturday, Nov. 13 Interpreters from the Georgia Center of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will be onsite at the Science Bar and Innovation Station to celebrate ASL Family Day. Storytellers will also share ASL story times on stage. CMA On Stage ASL Storytime Session A: 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. / Session B: 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Science Bar Kids will create their own scribbling robots! There will be an ASL interpreter in this space. Session A: 9:45 a.m. / Session B 1:45 p.m. Art Studio Families are invited to get creative with colorful arts and crafts! Session B: opens at 1:45 p.m. Elf on the Shelf Visit Thursday, Nov. 18 A special, magical guest will make an appearance at the Museum. CMA On Stage Elf on the Shelf Storytime A Magic Scout Elf will accompany Santa’s Merry Messenger who will read an Elf on the Shelf themed book! Session A: 11 a.m. Thankfulness Programming Monday, Nov. 22 – Wednesday, Nov. 24 Families are invited to celebrate Thanksgiving and all they are thankful for with CMA’s Thankfulness Programming! Dance parties, story times and gratitude journaling are just some of the holiday events planned. CMA On Stage If You're Thankful and You Know It Dance Time Storytime: “Bear Says Thanks” by Karma Wilson Session A: 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. / Session B: 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Science Bar Little ones can put on their dancing shoes to celebrate the holiday with a heartbeat dance party! Session A: 9:45 a.m. / Session B: 1:45 p.m. Art Studio Kids will reflect on what they’re thankful for with gratitude journals. Session A: 9:45 a.m. / Session B 1:45 p.m. Coming in November: Coming Nov. 18 Sockefeller Plaza Family favorite, Sockefeller Plaza is returning for guests to grab their favorite pair of socks and skate at the 200-square-foot skating rink. The rink is configured to allow for socially-distanced, sock-footed fun! Complete with lights and decor, this whole family will get into the holiday spirit. Continuing in November: Continuing through Jan. 2 Rube Goldberg™: The World of Hilarious Invention! Exhibit Inspired by Pulitzer Prize winning humorist and inventor Rube Goldberg’s iconic contraptions, humorous storytelling and inventive cartoons, the Rube Goldberg™: The World of Hilarious Invention! Exhibit immerses children in a collection of new 3D, life-sized machines and hands-on, interactive components that connect Rube’s cartoon contraptions to the way things work in the physical world. The engaging experiences provide insight into the legacy of Rube Goldberg and how classic engineering principles can be reimagined as entry points for deeper exploration of STEAM concepts for 21st-century learning. Children’s Museum of Atlanta continues to prioritize the health and safety of its guests, offering elevated health precautions for a comfortable visit.
